Hesitation is about taking a moment to look at what we have before stepping ahead into the unknown. There is a line between the challenging transition of childhood and entering into adolescence. Once it is crossed over, there is no going back. Our childhood is only a memory. For me, it brings a feeling of nostalgia. When creating Hesitation, I placed a feather representing the last stage of freedom as a child. The reluctant girl pauses, giving one last look at what she is leaving, before moving forward.
